I remember oiling the griddles before and after use when I worked as a cook, makes since that this would work for barbeque grills as well, I’ll have to keep this in mind.

The reason you get such a rich cup of coffee is that you control the water temp (using boiling water) while automatic drip does not get hot enough. Enjoy!
